John Barcanic helps change-makers turn vision into action, and action into transformation. As the Founding Director of Intersekt, John knows that both personal and community transformation occur best in the context of healthy, authentic relationships.
A sought after speaker, coach, and consultant, his skills have delivered results for a broad array of organizations, including International Aid Services, Meta Bank, the North American Baptist Conference, Church Resource Ministries, Exodus World Service, Lutheran Immigration and Refugee Service, Wheaton College and more. He has been a guest lecturer at Trinity Evangelical Divinity School, North Park University, Moody Bible Institute, and Northwestern University. He has ministered in 10 countries on four continents and is recognized for his ability to make deep theological truth readily understandable and immediately applicable.
John is the author of four books, including God Confidence: Cultivating Courageous Faith in Jesus Christ, The God Confidence Game Plan, Uncertain Seas: Thrive in the Midst of the Unknown, and Meaning: Cultivating a Life of Joy, Purpose, and Impact. His books are available on the "Resources" page or wherever fine books are sold.
An ordained pastor, certified leadership coach, and jazz pianist, John studied Jazz Composition at DePaul University and Christian Leadership at Sioux Falls Seminary. When he’s not speaking, coaching, or consulting, you can find him at a café in his hometown of Chicago playing piano with his jazz trio, reading a gripping novel, or debating whether or not people can fly in heaven.
